Read Untitled by Lior Shamriz
Read “Untitled” – a short story by Lior Shamriz, which was commissioned by MoMA Dirty Looks on Location’s reader in 2013. Under the title “Mining the Collection”, MoMA was inviting filmmakers to respond to films in the MoMA archive, and Shamriz was invited to respond to Lothar Lambart’s 1 Berlin-Harlem. In this short story, Shamriz humorously pokes fun at the cultural appropriation, orientalism and exoticism of Berlin’s cultural scene in 1973.
