The Way of the Shaman
Zaquisha Zed – The Way of the Shaman was a multi-channel installation, made by Lior Shamriz and Naama Yuria for the PS 333 Gallery at the Geumcheon Seoul Art Space in Seoul in summer 2013. It documented Yuria’s performative ritual to heal personal and collective traumas, within the landscape of Ashkelon’s streets, beach, bomb shelters, and the destruction of nature as a result of the city’s rapid expansion. The artists used details from their own biographies and personal issues they were dealing with at the time, and channeled them into biography of Zed, an artist who had to relocate back to her hometown after a failed romantic relationship and artistic collaboration with a London-based famed U.S artist.
